Raising Funds for Non-Profit Organizations with Social Graces

Submitted by Teo Graca (RSS Feed)

Since I started working with Grace Lee, I have found a new appreciation for the lack of understanding and offensive behavior around the world. The problems really come down to a simple lack of social graces, and as I see it on the street AND at the highest levels of government, I know that we can help.

When you want to build productive relationships, its best to level the playing field by using the proper social or business etiquette, which have either been ignored or forgotten over the years. This creates civility, minimizes personal conflict and is conducive to a productive environment. It creates positive response and can affect positive change in our communities.

What can this do for our group or organization?

Providing events around Social Graces adds distinction to your organization and confidence for your members through the knowledge of social graces. It is part of the social movement toward civility that Grace E. Lee started last year, which she calls the “Age of Relationship” - a movement towards global civility. A social change toward civility is a subject everyone can get behind.

If you want to get involved, we have a plan to position your group as the pillar of your community. This plan also provides opportunities to raise funds, increase revenue, find sponsors and build membership for your organization. This works well for faith-based and non-profit organizations working to improve people's lives, and for corporate sponsors interested in improving and developing relationships with their customer base.

What type of experience can we expect?

These events will teach why the first impression is so important and the students will practice how to maximize their first impression. Grace will cover; posture, formal and informal stance, proper attire, proper sitting and walking, entering and exiting a room, table setting, proper utensil usage, table manners, public manners, business etiquette, restaurant etiquette and much more.

All participants will leave the workshop knowing what is expected of them in Western and international society to successfully relate to others in a positive and productive way. Their new knowledge and confidence will assist them in their personal and business life forever. It is surely a win-win situation for everyone involved. Students that complete the workshop will receive a certificate indicating they have completed the GLI Universal Code of Conduct. Anyone that has completed GLI UCC knows what to expect from another GLI UCC graduate. Integrity!

Although we generally charge a flat fee for the social graces workshops and seminars, we sometimes sponsor the event and attract additional sponsors for the organization. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you are interested in learning more about this.
